The opening plenary of the ABA’s signature Arbitration Training Institute is on “The All-Important Preliminary Hearing.”
Virtually all arbitrations begin with a preliminary hearing where the arbitrator and the parties discuss all steps that are necessary to adjudicate the case, with the goal of assuring a cost effective and efficient arbitration.
This session addresses, from the perspectives of both the advocate and the arbitrator, how best to use the preliminary hearing to provide a comprehensive roadmap for the entire process.
