Fees

Arbitration Services


Fees are charged at a rate of $750 per hour, including study and preparation time, hearing time, arbitration panel deliberations, and award writing.

Mediation Services


Mediation fees are charged at a rate of $800 per hour, for convening, pre-mediation conferences with counsel, pre-mediation review of all submitted materials, mediation session time, follow-up, and any additional services related to the mediation process.

Discovery Referee Services


Fees are charged at a rate of $750 per hour, including preparation and hearing time.

Negotiation Training


Fees are set in consultation with the client based on the nature and scope of training to be provided.

Cancellation/Postponement


If an arbitration is cancelled or postponed within 30 days of the first scheduled hearing date, a cancellation fee of 5 hours per reserved hearing date applies ($3,750 per day). If a mediation is cancelled or postponed 14 or fewer days before the scheduled date(s), a cancellation / postponement fee will be charged, equal to four hours for each day of scheduled mediation time not rebooked. Such fees may be waived in appropriate circumstances. If the parties do not agree on which party is the canceling / postponing party, the fee will be split equally between them. The fees may be waived in appropriate circumstances and will not be charged in part or in the entirety for any dates rebooked with another hearing.

Travel Expense Policy


No charge for travel time. Cases throughout the San Francisco Bay Area heard without travel expense charges. Cases elsewhere in California are treated the same if three or more contiguous days of hearing are scheduled. Cases outside California are heard without travel time charged, but parties will be charged for airfare plus other out of pocket travel expenses (lodging, meals, airport transfers, etc.).
